man that sold Mt Vernon to the ladies of America. One of our officers examined him and found some valuable papers and some money in his possession. Left him lying on the ground and I went and examined where he was shot. found that 3 musket balls had passed through his breast. I then lay him out as decently as the circumstances would permit and after awhile the body was sent to camp. "Heard" they are trying to Surround Col. Kimble on Cheat Mountain and that he was short of ammunition and could get none. Sent 13 Ind to his relief.
