mornig Dec. 3rd at 12 Oclock M.Took passage on the Mail Steamer Major Anderson for Louisville arriving there about 12 Oclock in the night and remained on board all night and on Dec 4th I took breakfast at the Gault House and then joined the Reg. at Oakland camp 2 miles Sout of the City. found things much as usual only the boys all had got new tents of the Sibley pattern and ware well pleased with them The weather has been quite cold and considerable snow on the ground when I arrived at Louisville but a clear sun,
