4 It seems to have been the custom of the club all through the years to open the years work with a picnic and to close the year with a club tea or noon luncheon. This is still done and now since 1919, we have had some kind of festivity at Christmas time and an exchange of ten cent gifts. Refreshments at the regular club meetings has never been expected, that being a matter merely of the hostess choice and perhaps was more frequently done before the War years than at the present time. Picnic luncheons seem to have been held during the year if occasions arose which seemed fitting. Sometimes the taking in of new members have been occasions for such luncheons. Throughout the years flowers have always been sent to funerals of members and either a plant or some remembrance to sick members. Early in the club a solid silver spoon was often given to a member moving away and sometimes a small
