City Federation of Womans Club until it disbanded in 1956 for the "New Womans Club" with many Departments the same year. In 1952 the Constitution and by laws were revised. At one time the members drew names for "Secret Sisters", Birthdays and Christmas gifts and cards were sent to them and at the Christmas Party the secret names were disclosed. This was discontinued in 1963. In 1963 the Club purchased a book, Fare of North America, by Peter Ford, and it was presented to the Library for the Metta Whitcomb Book Shelf. The Cary Club also gave $10.00 to the Library to help buy drapes. The Club also gave money to help buy books for the "Childrens Library as a living memorial to the Librarian, Mrs. A. D.
