Aug. 19. 1913 The Womans Christian Temperance Union held this anual meeting aug 19. 1913. as a picnic at the home of Mrs. Wrage. Mrs. Wilson led the devotional exercises. Mrs. Wrage, Miss Jennie Bailey an Mrs. Robert Lincoln were appointed a committee to arrange for the Rest tent at the Fair ground. Miss Bailey reported recieving 1100 leaflets and blotters for distribution at the fair grounds Minutes of the last meeting were read. [Scralerys?] [Anndl?] report read and accepted. Annual report of Treasurer given and accepted. Mrs. Lewis said there were still some empty jars to be filled for the Benedict Home. Mrs. Emma Bailey reported 100 leaflets on Sabbath obediance distributed and assistance in the closing of the Sunday Theater. Mrs. Stocke gave the report on Scientific temperance. The schools were all visited by the committees. The teachers in the grade rooms are [pushing?] the work of essay writing by the pupils. 25 essays were written in two rooms. Erving Lenley won the $5.00 prize for the best temperance essay. Some of the teachers asked the ladies who visite their rooms for helpe from the Union, which could be used in teaching the Temperance lessons. Mrs Hill not being present Mrs. Wilson gave a report of the temperance work done in the Christian S.S. Leaflets an distributed in the S.S. on essay temperance Sunday and the temperance greetin ie die cused almost every Sabbath in Mrs. Wilson
