Grinnell W.C.T.U. met in the Congregational Church on Dec. 17 (1918) with 11 members present - meeting opened by singing "The Morning Light is Breaking" - Mrs. Sopher read the 103rd Psalm and led in prayer - minutes of last meeting read and approved - Mrs. John Lincoln was appointed supt. of Sientific Temperence in the schools - voted to allow $1.50 to Mrs. Stocks for Union Signal - Pres. ask for helpers to pack the box of comfort pillows and other articles for the soldiers at Fort Des Moines Hospital - Mrs. Kearney told us they needed comforts and the New Century Club tied a comfort at their meeting Mrs. Lincoln gave a report of Convention at Perry - Mrs. Kearney told of the service Flag for sons of White Ribbons Mrs. Lincoln to told of the warm welcome the People of Perry gave the Convention. A vote of thanks was given Mrs. Lincoln and Mrs. Kearney for their reports - Mrs. Lincoln and Mrs. (?) each paid one dollar on Hospital Fund - Mrs. Woodburn sang a for us - Dismissed by repeating the mispah. Ass. Sec. Grinnell W.C.T.U. met in the Cong. Church on May 20 (1919) with 15 members present. Meeting opened by singing. Mrs. George had the Devotional service she read Matthew 12. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Money malized from Market Day 42 dollars. Mrs. Kearney reported we have more than paid our share of the Jubilee drive, and read a letter from State Pres. Reports from members who visited New Unions one at Ewart, Deep river, and Gurnsey (?). Discussed the matter of the Movies keeping open on Sunday, a comittee apointed from each church to get together and find out what can be done - Mrs. Woodburn sang "we are for home and Mother" - Mrs. Sopher had the Programs "wear a white flower for mother". Committe on movies Pres. Mrs. Woodburn in Bop. Mrs. Kink. ME. Mrs. Watt and Cong. Mrs. McGuin (?) Friends. Mrs. Soher. Meeting closed by repeating the mispah. Asst. Sec.
