The regular monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U. was held April 19, 1921 at it usual place of meeting. Miss Eichorn(?) had charge of the devotionals, After singing a prayer was offered by Mrs. Griffith. The leader read the 36th Psalm. After the reading the president took charge of the business. Mrs. Woodburn reported $41.50 market day receipts. Mrs. Kirch reported the appreciation expressed by our mayor elect and his offer to cooperate on anything of special benefit for the community. A bill of 3.75 was allowed for anti cigarette literature to Mrs. Stocks. It was suggested that the bill boards should be kept clean and that a committee be appointed to present petitions to the council The president appointed Mrs. Woodburn, Mullins, Lincoln, Kearney and Richards After discussing the committee met and two petitions were to be written by Mr. Kearney and presented to the council. One on the cigarette law and the other on Sunday movies. It was suggested to send the mayor a Union Signal. The Union was reminded of the county Instatute (sic) in June. the pres. exhorted the members to attend. It will be held in Montezuma. After business Mrs. Earse(?) conducted a very interesting program on the strength and power of the W.C.T.U. membership and the advantages of this organization. There were 23 present.
