128 The W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. Wm. Hamilton in her pleasant suburban home on April 18 - 1922. The meeting was opened by reading of the scripture by Mrs. Matilda [McHowell?] She read the 94th [illegible], Revealing the state of the [godly?], their safety and their inhabitants. A prayer was offered by the leader. A [illegible] "Oswald Christian Soldiers" was sung by the [illegible]. Our president considered the unfinished business after the reading of the minutes, the sec. attention was called to the omission of March [illegible] the interesting talk from Mrs. Carmen on placing the the bible back into the school. A number of schools have already [illegible] to the [illegible] which is very general tall over our country. The rest room, its furnishing and general interest was discussed. Mrs. Stacks and Mrs. Hess for the interest of this enterprise in charge. Claire and a few things have already been donated. Miss Baily gave an interesting [reproach?] small efforts toward eliminating [illegible] pictures in tobacco [illegible], and billiards hall. It was [illegible] we have a banquet for the teachers during the first [illegible] of May, and for [illegible] our state president. Miss Smith give an appeal to replace the bible book in our schools. Mrs. Kingsland was [appealed] by the chair to take change of the banquet and approach her [illegible], and decide on the place to hold the banquet. Up to the present dating $34.50 more the met proceeds of the market day. A note of thanks was extended to Miss [Taw?] for her liberal donation on foreclosing literature. A report from the S.J. Bank was given awarding a prize to Rebecca Conrad 1st, Henry Bray 2nd, and Richard Phillips 3rd. The prizes $3 $2 and $1 was presented respectively.
