The Womens Temperance Union met at the home of Mrs J.H. Buchanan Nov. the 16, 1926. The meeting was opened by singing, "Bringing in the Shears." Mrs. C.S. Woods lead the devotions reading the 5th chapter of Math. for the scripture lesson. Mrs M E Hess lead in prayer. The secretary's report was read and approved. It was moved and sec. that the Local Union bear the Six ($6) Dollars expense of Mrs. M.E. Hess to the State Convention at Mason City Oct. 26-29-1926. Also to allow her $2.75 for flowers for Mrs. Brande's funeral. It was moved and sec. that the Local Union recommend to the County committee to pay Mrs Robert Lincoln's expense of Six ($6) Dollars to the State Convention at Mason City Oct. 29th. It was moved and sec. that the Union pay Ten ($10) Dollars to the Community Hospital. Mrs. M.E. Hess and Mrs. Robert Lincoln gave very interesting and satisfactory reports from the State Convention. The Convention adopted the slogan for the coming year; "Hold fast and Go Forward." It also stressed upon more efficiency. Miss Jennie Baily and Mrs. Robert Lincoln gave loving tribute to Mrs. Isabella Brande, a most loved and a departed chapter member. It was decided that the Scientific Temperance Instruction work to be continued and that prizes be given for essays. An acknowledgement of a prize given to Miss Woods was read. Mrs. Taylor sang a very impressive song; "A Drunken Husband." The meeting closed with the usual benediction Anne [illegible], Sec.
