The January meeting of the W.C.T.U. met at the home of Mrs. Robt Lincoln Jan. 18, 1927. Twenty-seven ladies were present, altho the weather was cold and storm. The president presided. Mrs. O. H. Shaw lead the devotional. After singing "Bringing in the Sheaves", the 15th ch. of Luke was read giving a wonderful lesson of love. A Missionary program was given with Mrs. J. H. Rowe as leader. She spoke of missionary work carried on in different organized missionary countries; Denmark, Argentina, Brazil, Iceland, New Zealand and India. Mrs. Wm Hamilton gave a very interesting talk on the work of Miss Mary J. Campell who is now president the W.C.T.U. in India. An offering of Ten Dollars ($10) was taken to aid Miss Campell in securing again her native helpers. It was decided that the check for the donation ($10) to the Community Hospital be made out to Dr. E. E. Harris. A bill of Two Dollars fifty cents ($2.50) be allowed for the printing of the programs for the year 1927. It was decided to have a pot-luck luncheon the day of the W.C.T.U. B. Institute Feb. 15, 1927. Mrs. John C. Lincoln and Mrs Harrett Alexander were presented with life membership Certificates. It was moved and sec that Mrs. Emma Baily be made a life member. A letter urging friends to work for the membership that is now on, was read from her now in Minneaplis. Mrs. W. H. Taylor sang a solo; "Touch Not, Faste Not", in her usual touching manner. After the program a social time was enjoyed while tea was served by the hostess Anna Hudnutt, Sec.
