MInutes of July meeting 1927 The W.C.T.U. met on July 17th at the house of Mrs. Richards. The Pres. Mrs. Robt. Lincoln presiding. Mrs. Alfred Howell conducted the devotionals reading the 90th Psalms. This was followed by a song from Miss Richards and Miss Clara Sincarpe with a zither accompaniment. Which was enjoyed by all. The minutes of the May and June meetings were read and approved. A report of the committee on the Sunday [illegible] Closing reported and the committee released. The committee on the float for the Fourth of July parade reported the float had been in the parade and presented a bill for decorations of $3.50 which was ordered paid. The next meeting being the annual election the feeling of the majority was that a nominating committee be appointed The following were chosen Miss Jennie Bailey, Mrs Stocks, Mrs. Emily Hamilton Mrs Kearney was called upon for a few words of greeting she having been away for several months. The white ribbon was then pinned on the new member present taken in during the year. The program was given by the members being in the Westfield neighborhood and was of excellent character and enjoyed very much by all. It consisted of a [illegible] by Mrs. Lizzie Lord and Miss Howell. A reading by Mrs. Lord. This was followed by a song by Miss Howell and Mrs. Lord accompanied by Mrs. Berlin Irving at the piano.
