The monthly meeting of the WCTU was held in the Congregation church Aug 16, 1927.  The devotinals were conducted by Mrs. H.O. Shaw taking for her subject "Daniel praying for Jerusalem" and many incidents of people that were used of God to bring about mighty things were people that spent lots of time in prair "What a Friend we have in Jesus" was sang.
The secretary's report was read and approved The marriage of Miss Ella Child in Long Beach Cafifo was announced. It was moved and sec. that our union send her greeting's. It was also moved and second that the union be responsible for five season (Chaxstaugua?) tickets for 1928. It was decided that a new secretarys book be provided Also that prized be offered for essays in different departments. Verry encouraging reports were given by directors of different departments of work of the union.  A bill of $2.13 was presented by Mrs GW Richards for the expence of the picnic July 17th and alowed.
