They do not like Los Angeles & said as soon as they had determined what to do they would write. I see by a late Sacramento paper the name of Eno - mentioned as having lately been appointed Post Master at Los Angeles & through a letter from Mr. Hawxhurst - formerly a citizen of this place now resident at Santa Clara I learn that lately Mr. & Mrs. Eno had been or were there July 13th at Santa Clara & were (quite?) undecided what to do. I have just written to them saying I thought they had better come home next Spring whether they had made anything or not. I told Mr. Eno I thought he could obtain a loan of money somewhere & go into the lumber business with me which would pay handsomely & I made him another proposition but do not know what he will say to either plan - I am pretty well satisfied of one thing & that is they had better return.
