Independence Iowa Febry 17.85 Dearest Coz Minnie: Your very welcome letter came to hand last Friday after being delayed several days by the snow blockade but it was none the less welcome for being late. though truly Coz I had begune to have some fears that perhaps you were getting a little tired of writing to your big cousin out west. I hope that is not the case for I can tell you what it would most break that big cousins heart if Now my dear girl dont try and wait as long as I did before writing but try and find opportunity wont you Minn? and I will do the same As ever Yours Mel
