Independence Iowa Dec 6th 1884 My very Dear Cousin I too am a little late with my letter to you but yours did not get around till last Tuesday so I am not so far behind after all, I suppose by this time you are having lots of snow and are enjoying the sleigh rides I wish I were there to share a few with you we have only had an inch or so of snow yet and that is all gone now and it is raining to day we have had about a week of cold weather but that Please to write as soon as you can for it is a long time between letters from you and I will try and do better next time Mell
