The day you get this, Wednesday will be my birth-day my best I am getting old 27! I have a number of Gray hairs in my mustache. they must be caused from pining for you, the 13th will also be just a year from the day you wrote me your last letter before I saw you before, I got a postal from Eda to day saying also would I come if Hattie wished but that she did have other plans. Independence, Ia July 10th 1887 Dear darling girl: - I did not get your dear letter last week till Friday noon the first time it has been as late as that since you went home. I dont know what I would have done if I had not got it then guess I would have had a fit. Hattie said Thurday it would not have take a word to make me cry, but then I guess she was mistaken, though I know I was very much down in the mouth my "lip hung down". I wonder why it is I am such a "baby" dont I disgust you
