99 simply had to be done. Perhaps it might be the chemical reaction of the honey and the acid which set up this condition and if so it was well worth considering an elimination from the diet to correct the fault. Regretfully then - because I am fond of honey - I discontinued its use. My stomach immediately was restored to its usual well being and performed in a normal manner once more. And that is the story of the discovery why honey is not for me. From Greece we treked by a French boat to Italy and had hardly been put through customs in Naples when I came down with an attack of the influenza. Fortunately we had made a landing, otherwise we might have been quarantined out in the harbor. The fascist government is so unreasonable with its own people that I am glad there was no necessity for us to having a direct conflict with it. This incident occurred in late March. But the pensions of southern Italy have no central heating plants and are therefore unnecessarily clammy and uncomfortable for what we would consider in between seasonal weather. Do you understand what it is like to live in a climate that is too moderate - so the inhabitants feel - to have central heating facilities in their homes; but much too cold for us who are not accustomed to surviving without artificial heat and then have to try to get along without being adequately warm? Have you ever been chilled through
