here have gone up north to [mook? nook?wook?] [Mose?] [Abernoth?] is Petting up Lightning rods for Shepherd in Ottumwa for $26.00 per [mo?], my idle [news-?] off very Mill. I sent you one of my Bills. The Sale amounted to about $800.00 I did not sell my match mules, new wagon nor either of my machins. I have all my Land rented out. The Howard Place that I Bought is all paid for, except for buying out some of the heirs. I will get about $200.00 rent for it this year, I conside I made a good investment when I Bought it, by [Thos Moore?] I got clear round John Abernathys 40 times a little dull here now, though the farmers are all doing well. write often, from your Father &c S.
