and wrote to Alice & Mother. Today the money came so immediately I took time out to write to you. Just before I left Callen your beautiful picture got there. I showed it to some of the fellows and they thought that you were really tops. That lovely smile really brings out the beauty. I will carry that picture with me on land or on sea and if I get shot or wounded I will have you beside me. I was very sad when I was leaving Callen but when your picture came, I began to realize that nobody else in the world means as much to me as you do.
