Camp Dix, N.J. Feb 17, 1942 Dear Evelyn, I've finally found a little spare time so maybe I can get caught up with my writing. Doesn't seem as if I could find much spare time lately to do anything. Start to write a letter and some sergeant will yell for us to fall in. Just got thru writing to sis & was interrupted at least a half dozen times. Was sorry to hear that your father died. I didn't get to know him very well but he seem like a swell fellow. I was on camp gaurd yesterday and had quite an experience. I was on as a prison chaser. They are supposed to take
