Camp Davaja Brighton, Mich July 19, 1942 12 midnite Dearest: All the boys are safely to bed and asleep; staff meeting is over and so I am going to write a few lines before going to bed. The writer of the S.S. Volendam prefers to remain anonymous, but it was really written on the Volendam and is true. Honey, you'd like to have me answer questions. I'll try to do that. After all, I know that they are asked to get information. The trouble is that I don't often have your letters at -1-
