July, 1906. Sun. 1. Fair & cool. Northerly breeze. at Meeting, all morn & Evg. Union Evg. with sermon by Rev. Caffyn. - Took a drive P.M. with H.B. Miner. Mon. 2. Rainy after 6:15 A.M. - steady soaker. Fairish Evg. - C. not in. Gradus Peas ready - 61 days. Began on currants - white & red. Strawberries most gone - short season & a light crop. Tues. 3. Unpromising morn., but fair except a shower P.M. late. C. in P.M. - at work at church accts. Mostly. Wed.4. Fair morn, northerly breeze. Fair all day & comfortable. Just glorious weather for the day. - Making out church report a.m. - All went out to Sherman's for pic-nic dinner & afternoon - with Goody Koontz. & played base-ball. Thurs. 5. Glorious weather: fair gtle breeze, and 80° max. - Garden morn & Evg. to recover from base-ball lameness. C. not in. Fri. 6. Beautiful day. 76° max; but pretty cool nights for the corm. C. in P.M. Girls went to S.S. pic-nic at devil's den. Sat. 7. Fine day. about 80° max. C. in P.M. & A.M. 104 1/2
