September, 1906. Sun. 16. Fair & very warm, 87° max. Thunder showers Evg. - At church morn. & Baraca class at Bro. Torrey's. Eye paining some. Mon. 17. Warm (82°) & threatening. The shower Evg. - C. in P.M. while I out looking after my political fences. Caucus Evg. at C. H. Sent 37 lb box of Grapes, Melons & apples, & a book etc. to girls by N.E. Ex. - chgs 35c. Tues. 18. Cloudy & warm morn. Fairing slowly; 80°, cooler Evg. C. not in to-day. Wed. 19. Cool, very damp, fair morn., red sun. Fair & warm all day (80°) till rain began 6:30 & kept it up with th. & lightning half the night, drenching rain, spoiling the Co. Fair. C. in P.M. Thurs. 20. 65° morn. & foggy drizzle. Cleared off warm again. At fair 2 hrs A.M. while C. at office. Showers late in Evg. Fri. 21. Fair morn. Light showers P.M. & cooler. - At fair 3 hrs P.M. Sat. 22. Cloudy & chilly. (Fair morn after fog.) Cold day for me in County Convention. Carl S. Jackson got the nomination, on 3d ballot; Tollof Johnson 2d.
