April,1918 Sun. 21 Another inch of snow morn. on top of the two in. 33 to 38° Snowed gently all day. Along to church. a.m. - Have a beastly cold & sore throat. Mon. 22 Fair, N.W. - 32 to 40 odd Feeling miserable, but at work, abstracting mostly. Left eye-ache most all time. Catarrh I guess. Tues. 23 Frozen, morn, Fair day N.W. wind. Did a little abstracting by feeling bad. Quit work 4 p.m. Wed. 24 Frozen a little gain. Fair. S.E. 55° or 56° Had a bad night; headache & catarrh. not at office. Called on Lathrop [illegible] Got out in P.M. [each? Hinted?] Early cobbles potatoes walked down for mail Stopped new [parsnip? illegible?] Thurs. 25 About as yesterday. but strong S.E. wind. not down town at all. Out a little while P.M. & set out hop roots. Fri. 26 Fair, variable breeze 67° max, easterly. Rake & [burned?] little; A.M. & went for mail. Mr. L sent for me P.M. & asked me to make deed to Charlie - Got new prescrip for stomachs,Dr. Bowen. Sat. 27 Cloudy. S.E., 53° max. Cold better in left side of head at last, & now [fine?] in right At office 10:30 - 12; and 3-6. went.
