April-May, 1918 Sun. 28 Rain in night; cloudy day & west wind. 43° at 20[illegible] Cold some better, but staid indoors. Nobody out to church. Mon. 29 Rain in night. Cloudy & cold, with W N.W. wind. 43° all day. Called on Lathrop at request, morn, noon, & evg., & made deed to Chas. S. Office 10+ to 12+; & 2 to 5:20 o'c. Tues. 30 Mostly fair; strong N. wind. Mer. about 38 till P.M. Cold some better, & worked 9 + to 6; with that head-ache, catarrh I suppose. - Called at Lathrop's again evg. - about the same. Wed. 1 May Fair, S.W. wind, 63° Frosty morn - Office 10 to 6. - somewhat better. called on Lathrop after supper again. Thurs. 2 Fair, S.W. 80° max + Office 8:30 to 6. Fri. 3 Fair. S.W. 85° + max. Work about home, morn Office 10 + to 6; & 1 hr. evg. Charlotte's club here. My cold getting sweated out. Sat. 4 About as yesterday & quite as warm. Office 9 to 6. - Garden morn & evg, but hoe & rake feel heavy. Planted morn peas evg. 1st Asparagus.
