May, 1918 Sun. 12 Partly cloudy, N. and 59° max. C. & I at church morn. only. - Catarrh still very bad. - called on Lathrop. Mon. 13 Frosty; clear. N.W. wind: 52° max. Garden morn till 9:30. & evg. Tues. 14 Fair, S.W. - 40 to 72° Rather busy at Insurance. not much work down about home. Letter from George. - 64 to-day. Wed. 15 Fair. S.W. wind, 81° max. Garden till 10. & most 2 hrs. after supper fixing hen yard. Thurs. 16 Fair; S.W. wind. 80° or more. - Garden till 9; & making coop evg. Mr. Geno spading all a.m. Fri. 17 Fair a.m. - 72° max. Fine showers noon & again 4 to 6 warm. Planted Carmen Potatoes; till 10. Put (6) corn & beans to test. Sat. 18 Fair am & p.m. 60 to 78 or 80 Garden till 10; took off windows & H. put on screens. Hoeing Evg. Lilacs in prime. both colors
