September, 1918 Sun. 8 Fair, S. Westerly, 78° Edith, Carlotte, Harriet & I all at church morn only Mr. Lathrop got another fall Mon. 9 S.W. to NW., a little rainy all day. about 68 max. and much cooler evg. Tues. 10 N.E. to S.E. - rainy day, but not much water; 43° to 50° [Frankes?] Lathrop arrived. Office mostly: nothing doing. Wed. 11 Heavy rain all night Warmer. 58 morn, 64 max & colder N.W. again evg. Consulted Dr. B for pain in right chest. for 10 days - got med. & put in [blister?] Thurs. 12 Fair, 43 to 50 N.W. Not doing much to-day Covered thing for a frost Yanks began big drive on Lorrain Fri. 13 No frost, 43 to 78, Fair S. Breast some better. Doing a little abstracting P.M. Garther DeSotos and Wolf plum not many. Sat. 14 51 to 67; S. Rain all pm Ch. & Edith went to still T [rotto?] dinner Got 110 Everbearing strawberries from Garden at Osage "No. 999."
