I By-Laws Article I. Name and Object. The name of this Company shall be the Grandview and Port Louisa Twp. Rural Telephone Co. of Grandview, IA; organized for the purpose of building and maintaining a system of telephone lines on the mutual plan for the benefits of its members. Article II. Membership and Shares Sec. I. Each member must own an interest or share in Company, which shall be purchased and retained only by paying a proportionate part of the cost of construction and yearly expenses and shall be allowed to connect one telephone with the Company's lines for each share taken by him. But no member shall be allowed to own or control more than two shares in the Company. Sec II. If any member fails to pay his assessment for thirty days after being notified he shall pay a penalty of .25 ¢. If at the end of sixty days the assessments of any member is not paid, the telephone of such member shall be disconnected with the Company's lines and the interest of such member in the company surrendered, until his assessments are paid, but if such assessments are not paid at the end of six months the relations between such member and this Company are severed.
