spend rest P.M. with Maz S_ (?) (?) & self Friday August 22 Still very warm, & more pleasant. Got about cooking, C-apples soon as could, (but had trying on boots to do first) & had jelly out of way & lot of plums cooked & jelly most made before dinner, Lena's shoulder better so she kept at work with me, tho' she had 4 friends & relatives here about noon, all away soon after but Mary, I spent an hour or more in to get Rose' to visit Mrs H_s but Mrs Howe got her there to August 23 Pleasant, tho' very warm, Lena's shoulder (or boil) better so she was busy cooking all A.M. & I did sweeping of front rooms, & cleaning, Lena wiping off windows. Estelle - Edith & Millie Hedgewood & Jessie Lewis spent P.M. with me, Charlotte coming later & not shopping long after tea, but rest spent eve - & had pleasant time.
