July, 1900 Sun. 8. Fine day; quite cool & N.W. wind. At ch. moru. & erg. Rev. Gillette of West Union preached. saw quails Walk with Charolette Harrie, P.M. Mon. 9. Fair, coolish, & indications of more rain. - Sending over invitations, & c.- Mowed cog. Eyes aching Left eye ached all night. Tues. 10. Fair, variable breeze, warmer. Eyes feeling better, but left eye inflamed and [metterating?]. - Mowed evg. George & Rosanna came, 10 a.m. Wed. 11. 58 [morn?], cloudy, N. cleared away, very fine evg. but quite chilly. - Celebrated my 50th birth-day, 47 gentlemen guests present. Enjoyed it very much. Thurs. 12. Fair, & rather warmer. [Abstracting?]. Dinner at Kidder's. Home evg.
