The globe you would have to use, no matter where you are flying, would need to cover from 34°28' south latitude (sub-stellar point locus of Kaus Australis) to the North Pole. At 20 miles to the inch a globe over 12 feet in diameter would be needed for accuracy equal to our present Mercator charts. 3. Our charts can be for in size just to cover the area we are crossing and we can plot star fixes freely on them. 4. Moreover we can plot fixes accurate to 10 miles or less in 6 to 10 minutes with the system we now use.
