-2 By no means all of the class was sent to San Marcos. Only a few more than a hundred came. Yes I am flying. Have been for three or four weeks. We go on patrol search etc, .... "learn by doing", is the motto. I nearly cashed in my chips the other day when we missed a forced landing by good luck. I am writing a story based on that experience for L.N. and you will get the details that way. Flying is all right but I am not like the eager kids you see, on the line at a civil airport, panting for a ride. We're not up for the ride, we're there for work. It's hard, exacting
