{June 27, 1943} Sunday evening Dearest: I wrote this enclosed while out on the river bank. When I reread it, it sounds overdone. I think perhaps I am afraid to put my thoughts on paper...The Puritan in me shrinks from it...but this time I did. Anyway it was a lovely day; I had a walk, I relaxed and I had an amusing experience with a solicitation. I don't suppose a solicitation, especially by a child, is anything to write one's fiancé about...but I feel you'd be amused too, so I'll send the letter after all: Love B.J
