Natalie Canfield 7 June 1943 Monday afternoon Dearest [illegible] Just back from (that pen was too fine for this paper) a mission. It was a mighty rough ride scudding along at 1500 feet....under the clouds. I got two letters from you....they were on my bed waiting for me when I got back. That wall paper sample you put in this time is particularly nice. Again I notice your predeliction (is there such a word?) for soft grays.....vaguely pinkish and bluish grays. They are very attractive. Perhaps I didn't even write a #108. I don't know but I begin to suspect that is the case. I will rewrite those
