Monday a.m. It seems over now, somehow. Some members have already left. Mr. Lindstrom couldn't stay for the Banquet, Alonzo Leonard just looked in Saturday, etc. Clyde & Sesta left on the same bus after the Convention. But there were 44 at the Banquet. Anna Marie attended. I sat between Clyde & Mr. Pedrick. (Clyde certainly was a wonderful help to me.) It ended exactly at 10:30; Spink called on those he wanted to speak so Anna Marie had no chance. Lois Grimes gave a monologue about a broken garter (by Dorothy Parker) and Crane said it reminded him of Gypsy Rose Lee who believed in showing the boys what they were fighting for. Jeffreys mentioned that Vondy was the stage door canteen of the last war as all the ajays & most of the soldiers who passed thru N.Y. met her. Holman mentioned some of his Official Board. Jeffreys is to handle publicity and Sesta will be mailing manager. Afterwards Anna Marie cornered me but I had to follow Sesta and then Burton Crane & Bob Holman
