Des Moines, Iowa Oct 7th 1866 My Dear Pa and Ma Today is a bright -beautiful day. We did not feel like going to church this morning and I thought perhaps you would as have hear from me as not. A nice [illegible] the day after I came. I had a very pleasant trip home-through in thirty (30) hours and the first one I saw was LE. grinning, Found theirs all well and seeminly glad to see me.
