for I did not like to see the (Will?) Allen get the property for he would buy it in and you would never see it again. I received your letter a day or two ago in answer partly to mine of that date, in reference to your property. It is still in the Fosters hands. I am still at DesMoines but think some of going South the winter and go to raising cotton, or in other words I don't know whether I will stay here or not or if I shall keep at the Law. Perhaps I shall go to Fort Dodge, that will make a good town but not so good as this and I am already to far north. If I remain here I must not expect to do anyting for two or three years and I don't like to idle that long. My love to all. Write soon Your son O. B. Bartholomew
