where the Bureau was - the washstand is where you placed it. We have built a small room just east of the kitchen shed. for [Mr.?] Curtis "Joe" got in the habit of killing chickens - killed half we had before we were certain what did it. We whiped him but it did no good. So Mr. Curtis took him to town one evening and lost him. We hated to do so on [Ethie's?] account - he was kind to her. but could not help it. The cat is still [Ethie's] pet and she thinks everything of it, and the cat is good to her now. She will roll it over on the floor and lay her head on it. We shall have some pictures of Ethie taken soon and then Emma, you shall have one, her hair has grown and Mary curls it all over her head
