Woodland Farm Lucas Co Iowa February 21st 1869 Dear Father & Mother: I received your letter of last week ago. Would have been glad could you have spent a week or two with us. May has been getting along very well, was up in a week & would have been in two days if we had let her. The baby is well and as sharp as could have been expected. We shall expect Pa to send that name. Tell Laura if she don't like the idea of having so many babies, she must content herself with the idea that it won't cost her anything. She can reserve the name for her first-born. Today is very rough and snowing hard last night. I am depending very much upon the success of my mill. I have about 600 (?) logs in - have about 200 more to bring in. I borrowed $100 from Levi due the
