By having this early a chance to plan for it maybe I could battle it out with them; but do you think I should defy my family? I always think I can dish out advice to those who ask me but I make a sorry mess of my own life. That's because I listened to my heart instead of my head this time. I knew as well as I knew anything that since you didn't want to get married until after the war we should not be engaged. I knew that doubts would creep in and I'd be miserably unhappy many, many times. Always
