Started Zach Shepherd Dec 17, 1943 Friday My dearst, I was supposed to have a pass tommorrow and had arranged with Elaine to print in her shop. She was planning to have a group of local amateurs there. Then orders prevented my pass. Isnt that the army though. Yes, I'll write a pass round a about meeting Elaine. I'm writing this from the little restaurant about 3000 feet above the field. the valley trimmed with rock mountains extends below. It looks as though a great metorite spread out to the horizon.
