38 enemy at Tunnel Hill, Georgia, and Dalton, Johnson retreating, leaving his dead and wounded in our hands. (signed) Genl Geo. G. Mead. Judging from the sound of Cannon and musketry there must have been some hard fighting done on our extreme right, which was kept up until near dark this evening. near Spottsylvania C.H. Wednesday, May 11th. 1864 Firing began about 5.30 this morning and was kept up at intervals all day, during which Michael Neider of Company H, was wounded. The movements of the troops was very peculiar - First the sick and wounded were sent to Fredericksburg and then the troops fell back to the Hospital, where they remained for
