52 Crossed the Pamunky river at 11 oclock, night, and halted after passing through a little villiage called Enfield, at 11.30 night. Sunday May 29th 1864 Marched at four oclock this morning but did not go more than two or three miles when we were deployd in line of battle, and threw up Rifle pits - Left the pits and moved back about 500 yards where we still are tonight. Monday 30th Marched last night a little while before dark, passed Hanover Church and some Iron Works, where we halted about half an hour, then advanced
