125 Near Peeble's House, Va. Monday, Oct. 10th 1864 Lieutant Alspach of Co. A. returned to the regiment today. The Regimental Desk is reported lost. Tuesday 11th This being Election day I cast my first vote. Voted for State and County officers and for Congressmen, of the United States. Was appointed Judge of the Election for Chester County, Berks County and Susquehannah County. Wrote father for a statement of the amount of money I sent home since enlistment to date. Wednesday 12th Abel F. Pennypacker came to see me today. 147 drafted men, substitutes and volunteers arived this afternoon for our regiment, to whom rations were issued placing them on even footing with the other men.
