157 The whole Company was marched to Corps Head Quarters where the presentation was made. Lieutenants Herman and Knight, of the 17th Michigan, who have been with us for several months were returned to their regiment, and were complimented by Capt. Brumm. They carry with them the kind regards of all the officers of the regiment. Saturday 17th Was relieved from Guard duty this morning, after which I made out my Guard report and some statements for Capt. Brumm. Rec'd Doctor's Certificates of the death of: W. Kirch J. Steffe and }Company F A. Christ The reb's shelled us for about 1 1/2 hours today and made us keep in the Bomb proofs.
