204 terrible cannonading, on our side. Then came the charge and Petersburg was ours. We are now lying at the South side of The Town. As far as known our regimental loss is: Michael Grogan and John McDonald, of Co. H., and John Fritz, of Co. C, are reported killed, and Frank Fisher, of Co. "C, wounded. Browders Crossing Danville Petersburg R. R., Va. Sunday, April 9th 1865 Chaplain Armstrong held Church services this morning preaching a sermon on the Victories of Life. Weather is very fine.
