207 An order (General order #69) from the War Department directing that all flags be kept at half mast next Wednesday, that all labor be suspended and minute guns be fired, also that the officers wear crape on their left arm and sword hilt. Was mustered yesterday as Adjutant of the 50th Regiment Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteers. - Wednesday, April 19th 1865 - Regiment left Browder's Crossing for City Point this morning - Owing to only one team being allowed the regiment to transport our baggage considerable Camp and Garrison material had to be abandoned by the officers. I left, for which I must account - 2 Spades - 4 axes and helves, 2 Hatchets and helves and 1 Camp Kettle.
