231 In January 1886 the two Posts; #16 and #76, each appointed committees to act jointly in raising funds, by means of entertainments etc to erect a Soldiers Monument in Chas Evans Cemetery. In the organization of this joint Committee, January 9th 1886, I was elected Secretary and continued as such until the consumation of the object, and the monument was erected. At the unveiling of the Monument I was appointed Chairman of the Committee of arrangements, and conducted the ceremonies September 10th 1887. Served on the National Commander's Staff during the year all ending September 1893, and received a souvenir medal of the occasion. During these
