237 Knights of the Golden Eagle - Was initiated in Veteran Castle, K.G.E., Dec. 3d 1897. Sept 17.1897 Attended the reunion of Companies D.G. and K., 50th Regiment P.V.V. at New Albany, Pa., There was a good attendance of G. and K. most of Company D's men belong to the National Guard and their Company was sent to the Coal region to quell a riot among the striking Minors. Met quite a number of the boys whom I had not not met since the day we were mustered out, at Harrisburg July 31.1865. At the afternoon session I spoke of the Victories of peace and in the evening of the
