239 Having written up a brief history of the Grater, Crater family and given the genealogy of my particular branch, I started to trace up the Longacre family (my mother's branch of it). I learn from research made by Hon A. B. Longacre, Norristown Pa. that Daniel Longenecker, a French Huguenot, during the Spanish inquisition escaped to Switzerland and settled near Zurich, from whence they (he and his family) came to America, some time been 1719 and 1727, and located at Mingo, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. (He was a Menonite preacher.) His son Jacob, my Great Grand father, was born there in 1751. He died in 1831 and was buried at the Rhoade's meeting house, near Spring City, Chester County, Pa., His son, Henry C. Longacre was born (my Grand father) in 1786 and died in 1847- was also
